Quality was the order of the day with some awesome group games including a mammoth 1st game of the day between Henry Cutting and Ash Coleman with no legs going past 15 darts setting the standard for the rest of the day, with all the top 8 seeds making it out of the groups with the exception of (6) Wayne Bugby failing to qualify from arguably the toughest group we've seen all year. The stand out tie of the last 16 would see rankings leader Kevin Edwards playing Gary Butcher, Kevin showing all experience to move onto the quarter finals where he would be joined by the top 5 seeds, tough draws for Frankie Ansell(7) and Richard Andeerson(8) meant we lost 2 more seeds before the quarters.
Good wins for Kyle Bloomfield over Ian Plumb and Jamie Robinson over Brandon Western meant an all Stowmarket Superleague semi final, in the other half number 2 seed Jason Elvin finished clinically to see off the threat of Kevin Harris whilst Kevin Edwards kept his nerve to beat Henry Cutting(3) in a nail biting deciding leg.
In the first semi Kyle flew out of the blocks taking an early 2-0 lead only for Jamie to find another gear taking 5 legs on the trot to see off his team mate, the 2nd semi final will go down as a Super Series classic, a rematch of the Kesgrave final the top 2 seeds battled it out for a place in the final, Kevin lead from the start taking an early 3-1 lead only for Jason to come storming back to level the match at 4 all, Jasons power scoring in a deciding leg was the difference and you could see just what it meant to reach the final
Onto the final and it didn't disappoint, Jamie Robinson showing all his big stage experience to take the early lead 3-1 only for Jason Elvin to kick in and fight back to 3all the next few legs where shared with Jason taking a narrow lead at 5-4, Jason started the 10th leg with some heavy scoring and when Jamie just missed a dart for a big finish Jason stepped in to seal the win and take the title of Suffolk Super Series Champion 2023

it was very fitting that the final qualifying event for the Suffolk Super Series 2023 was held at the home of the Suffolk County Team, and with all the main contenders in attendance it was sure to be a great day, with the points table very close for the final placings in the all important top 32 a lot of nervous players failed to reach the KO stages and had a long wait to see if they had done enough, no such worries for table topper Kevin Edwards who stormed to the final beating 3 Suffolk County players and event 4 Winner Frankie Ansell on the way, in the other half of the draw Suffolk newest 100 cap man Jason Elvin was flying beating event 3 winner Henry Cutting in the semi final to set up his 1st final of the series, Jason flew out of the blocks in the final to take a 3-2 lead before Kevin dug in and used all his experience to take it to a deciding leg, which he won to take his 3rd title of the year 5-4, an awesome final to finish off an awesome event, and to top it our finalists finished 1 and 2 in the Super Series table.

Frankie Ansell came through a tough draw to take the honours in event 3 beating no less than 4 Suffolk County players on his way to the final, Frankie dropped no legs in making the quarter finals where he met former PDC tour card holder Curtis Hammond, Frankie coming through a high quality match 4-2, in the semi finals he would beat another former PDC player in Jamie Robinson, Frankies clinical finishing would see a 4-1 win and a first final of the year. Meeting him in the final would be event 3 winner Henry Cutting, Henry would reach the semi finals with last leg deciders in every round to set up a clash with the in form Jason Elvin, Henrys power scoring would see him overcome the experienced county player 4-2. The Final was a tense affair with both players scoring well, Frankie gaining a valuable break early on which he never relinquished to take the title 5-3

Henry Cutting returned to the Super Series in spectacular form, after missing event 2 Henry took a full 10 points from event 3 to propel himself up the rankings, dropping no legs in reaching the quarter finals he found ever consistent Jamie Robinson a tougher test battling through 4-2 to set up a semi final clash with Suffolk County legend Wayne Hammond, Wayne having his best run in the event so far found the power scoring of Henry to hot to handle losing 4-1. Joining Henry in the final was ever improving Brandon Western, after tough battles with Neil Davey and Dan Cornish Brandon saved some of his best darts to eliminate SSS table topper and 2 time winner Kevin Edwards 4-2, The semi final sore Brandon come through a fiery match up with in form Ian Plumb 4-2. Henrys high scoring continued in the final taking a deserved 5-2 victory and event 3 title, the table is still tight at the top with the 32 places on finals day still all to be played for.

Kevin Edwards once again took maximum points at the Suffolk Super Series event 2, but he certainly didn't have it all his own way, Kevin was pushed hard in the knockout stages with players taking him to a deciding leg in the last 32 and last 16, Kevins experience getting him through a tough draw, In a high scoring final against Jamie Robinson going 2-1 up before Kev kicked on for the win. Great run for Jamie on his Super Series debut, another debutant Mick Connolly made the most of a late spot for entry reaching the semi final, the semi finals made up by the ultra consistent Ritchie Anderson making his second semi final in 2 events, with some big names missing in event 2 there where some major movers in the points table.
